Pelling, a quaint little town at an altitude of 6800 feet, used to be covered in a wild, dense forest that served as a haven for many local wild animals at the time. This ridge, which is sandwiched between Pemayangtse and Sangacholing, two historic Buddhist monasteries, eventually became Pelling, a complete village.
Pelling is currently one of Sikkim’s top tourist destinations. More than that, Pelling is the hub of West Sikkim, home to all the region’s breathtaking tourist attractions. Pelling is a year-round vacation spot with hotels and resorts to suit every price range.
Each year, it hosts the Khangchendzonga Festival, which is named after the protector deity of Sikkim. Every year, tourists flock to Pelling and Darjeeling to take in the breathtaking scenery.
Darjeeling and Pelling, two stunning hill stations, are located in the midst of nature. Our catered tour will satisfy your wanderlust, and we take great pleasure in offering it to you. Our 4N/5D Darjeeling Pelling tour offers a fascinating and engaging excursion to the picturesque hill station of Darjeeling in West Bengal and the lovely, undiscovered Pelling in Sikkim.
Darjeeling is a small, picturesque town with vast tea estates and structures from the colonial era. It brags about having stunning views of the mighty Mt. Kanchenjunga and beautiful sunrises and sunsets. While there are other attractions in the area, such as the toy train ride between Darjeeling and New Jalpaiguri, visitors can also enjoy the town’s monasteries, such as Ghoom, and the war memorial at Batasia Loop.
Pelling is located in West Sikkim and is easily accessible by car from Darjeeling by traveling through valleys, hills, and villages, as well as by following the Teesta River’s course and then the picturesque Rangit River until Legship. Take a break along the way to admire the Teesta and Rangit rivers coming together in perfect harmony.
Try not to become overly entranced by the simplicity and beauty of Pelling while you’re there, and have a good time. You will probably go to the well-known Pemayangtse Monastery, which was formerly a small Lhakhang constructed in the 17th century and now serves as the headquarters of the Nyingma Order of Tibetan Buddhism.
Taking this 4 Nights/5 Days Pelling and Darjeeling tour package will allow you to relive nature’s splendor and introduce you to the straightforward way of life in the east and north of the region, and help you rediscover your once-close connection to nature and, in a sense, to yourself.
After landing at Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station, meet our representative and proceed on a drive to Pelling. Check into a hotel as soon as possible after arriving. You can explore the neighborhood at your leisure in the evening. Spent the night in a hotel.
After breakfast, travel to Pelling in West Sikkim. Pemayangtse Monastery, one of the most important monasteries in the state, is where our sightseeing tour kicks off. Lhatsun Chempo, a revered Lama who oversaw the consecration of Sikkim’s first Chogyal in the tradition’s founding years, is credited with creating it.
The monastery’s painted wooden replica of Zantho Pelri, Guru Rinpoche’s Heavenly Palace, is its most amazing feature. It commands a magnificent panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges, as well as the surrounding hills and countryside, and is situated on a hilltop at an altitude of 6840 feet.
From here, we will travel to the fabled Kechopalri Lake, one of the holiest Buddhist lakes, where it is said that any wish made in front of the lake is granted. According to a local legend, any leaf that falls onto the placid, clear water surface is picked up by a bird, leaving the water surface free of leaves at all times. Along the way, we’ll also stop at the state’s two most impressive perennial waterfalls, Kunchenjungha Falls and Rimbi Falls.
After lunch in Peeling, we drive an hour to Dentham Valley to see Tsangey Falls. Visit Sinsore Bridge, Sikkim’s tallest bridge, as well. After returning to Pelling in the late afternoon, spend a chill evening at your hotel watching the sunset over the Mighty Khangchendzonga. You are free to explore the shopping center or helipad in the evening.
Visit the Pemayangtse Monastery in the morning after breakfast, one of the well-known monasteries. Originally a small Lhakhang constructed by Lhatsun Chempo in the 17th century, it is now the headquarters of the Nyingma Order of Tibetan Buddhism. The monastery is adorned with wall paintings, sculptures, and numerous ancient idols and objects of worship.
Our next stop is Khecheopalri, a fabled lake that is 25 kilometers away. It is said that the Holy Lake, which is encircled by thick forests, has the ability to grant wishes. Next, we’ll stop by the magnificent perennial waterfalls of Kunchenjungha Falls and Rimbi Falls, which are both located along the route. Return to the hotel after lunch.
We’ll head to the Dentham Valley after lunch, which is about an hour’s drive from Pelling. Visit Tsangey Falls and take photos of the breathtaking waterfall. Visit Sinsore Bridge, Sikkim’s tallest bridge, as well. Later, spend the night at the hotel by returning there. We will travel to Darjeeling early in the morning.
We will leave early in the morning for Tiger Hill to see the sunrise over Mount Kanchendzonga. As you make your way back to the hotel, stop at Batasia Loop and Ghoom Monastery.
After breakfast, continue to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, the PNZ Zoological Park (closed on Thursday), Tenzing Rock, the Tibetan Refugee Center (closed on Sunday), and the Tea Garden (outer view). After lunch, head back to the hotel, where you can enjoy the rest of the day before retiring for the night.
After breakfast, go to Bagdogra Airport to catch a flight or go to New Jalpaiguri station to catch a train to your hometown. The vacation is over. Let’s stay in touch via Facebook, and email, and arrange to meet up again on another special holiday. Until then, bye!
