Gorumara National Park is one of the most important national parks in North Bengal.It is located in Murti, Raidak, in the Terai region, on the flood plains, right at the base of the Eastern Himalaya. A branch of the Brahmaputra called Jaldhaka flows right next to the National Park. Gorumara has a mixture of grassland and forest vegetation.
One Horned Indian Rhinos are well-represented there, which is why it is famous. Gorumara has been named the top protected area in India in 2009 by the Ministry of Environment and Forest. In 1895, the Gorumara forest was designated as a reserve. It was given the designation of a wildlife sanctuary in 1949.
Gorumara was later designated as a national park in 1994. 80 square kilometers or so roughly constitute the size of Gorumara National Park. Go on a safari through the jungle after a leisurely breakfast.
